Pvc Jon Boat Stabilizers
A couple pieces of small pvc inside of a few pool noodles could be used to wrap the boat slightly above the waterline. 2 u shaped bracket on each end of the boat slid into the long tubing should hold it in palce with out holes in the boat.. I built some pvc pipe floats for my 1432 jon boat friday night. i took it out saturday morning, they worked faily good. i think i need to use 6" or 8" pvc. i used 4" and they work but boat is still a little tippy while trying to walk from back to front to throw traps. just being able to stand up is a big improvement.. Has anyone built/bought/used outriggers for their jon boat? i have a 1032 alumacraft jon boat and am thinking of building a set. i just got a 3.3 hp merc 2 stroke engine for it, and hope to try it out this weekend.. They make stabilizers for cannoes you can look at one and duplicate it for a jon boat, i have a 15 fiberglass tri haul 1971 starcraft 5 guys could not even begin to pick that boat up have leaned over the edge had two people even three that boat doesnt move i even put in the ohio river by cincinnati and fish there alot..
