Pvc Pipe Jon Boat
Build your own pvc johnboat for minimal cost and time.: inspired by the pvc kayak, i thought i could build one up making it differently with a simple design that i have used previously in a small 1.5 foot boat which i built out of plexiglas. i also plan on attaching a trolling motor with 34lbs or thrus.... If you store your jon boat to bass boat creation outdoors, you need a good cover and bracing to keep water, leaves and other debris out of your boat.. I built some pvc pipe floats for my 1432 jon boat friday night. i took it out saturday morning, they worked faily good. i think i need to use 6" or 8" pvc. i used 4" and they work but boat is still a little tippy while trying to walk from back to front to throw traps. just being able to stand up is a big improvement..
Need help!! i own a 14ft aluminum boat that has a narrow profile. read some ideas on putting pvc pipe on both sides to stabilize the boat. i am thinking of using 6 inch x 10 ft capped but i'm not sure whether to mount them at or near the bottom of the boat or another idea would be to mount at the water line with the boat empty so no matter how many people got in the pipe would be in the water.. I am wanting to make some rod holders for my aluminum v-hull out of pvc pipe. i'm looking for some ideas on how others have done it. please post a pic if you have it along with a brief description of how you made them..
