The duck boat that capsized during a storm in southwestern missouri last week -- a disaster that left 17 people dead -- was raised to the surface of table rock lake on monday in an effort overseen. A woman who lost nearly her entire family on a doomed duck boat ride in missouri on thursday night says passengers were told: 'don't worry about grabbing the life jackets' before they sunk.. According to cbs news, there were life jackets on the duck boat, but missouri law does not require people to wear them. whether any of the victims were wearing life jackets has not yet been released.. Online videos of branson duck boat tours from recent years show life jackets stowed beneath the roof of the boats, within arm’s reach of an adult. but few if any patrons were wearing them on. Duck boat survivor tia coleman revealed the captain said they wouldn't need life jackets before boat capsized and killed 17 people..
